Ward has always received vehicles for recycling and introduced additional specialist equipment in 2003 to comply with the new ELV regulations.
We continuously train new staff in the most efficient techniques to accept and process vehicles and have further invested in newer equipment in recent years to speed up the car processing operations.
All vehicles processed are then sent for final destruction in our shredding and metal processing operations.
Approved Authorised Treatment Facility
Ward is an authorised treatment facility (ATF) which means we have permitted sites for carrying out and treating waste electrical and electronic wastes, as well as hazardous material.
We can carry out depollution, disassembly, shredding, recovery, or preparation for disposal for vehicles. Any operator of a site or sites receiving WEEE direct from a designated collection facility (DCF), distributor, or end-user can apply to become approved. Only operators of approved ATFs (AATFs) can issue evidence notes for the treatment, recovery or recycling of WEEE that takes place in the UK.
Our accreditation also permits us to export WEEE or WEEE materials for further treatment, recovery, or recycling.
