Ward Recycling operate a number of shears. Our main shear is situated at our Swadlincote depot and capable of 850 tonnes of hydraulic force.

The cranes prepare the material for shearing using a selection process ensuring the correct material placed into the machine.

Using the lateral compression block and a single folding lid. The block is moved inward by a single horizontal cylinder connected to a torsion bar, to give parallel movement. The material is folded or compressed into the closed section cross section using the side compression and the flat lid fitted to the other side of the box. The material is then cut to length. 

This produces a preferred feed material for steel mills, foundries and remelting plants.
