Donald Ward Limited trading as Ward Recycling is one of the most advanced recycling companies in the UK. As such, the protection and consideration of and for our environment and the prevention of pollution and other adverse environmental impacts plays an integral and essential part in The Company’s activities and considerations. All work is performed under and in accordance with relevant legislators licence.
Our work in metal and waste recycling actively benefits the environment by ensuring the supply of recycled product to a wide variety of other companies within the broad recycling industry sector thereby helping to reduce the generally higher energy consumptions and other associated adverse environmental impacts that might otherwise arise through the alternative processing of virgin materials.
We consider our responsibility towards our environment to be a fundamental priority alongside The Company’s production targets. This is demonstrated by our commitment to our Environmental Management System as applied to all of The Companies operations and sites.
The fundamental aim of the Environmental Management System is; to provide a framework for the continued and ongoing improvement in environmental performance via the setting and reviewing of specific environmental achievements and objectives.
We are committed to meeting and; where possible; exceeding relevant regulatory requirements and to minimising adverse environmental impacts and effects that might otherwise result during the course of The Company’s activities.
Attention will be paid to the quality of materials purchased, processed and supplied by This Company in order that we shall minimise environmental impacts and effects that might otherwise occur during storage, production and transportation of The Company’s product.
Strategic planning will minimise adverse environmental impacts and effects that might otherwise be caused by both existing facilities and new developments that the Company might deploy along with continued and ongoing close attention and analysis in order to preclude the potential and possibilities for the occurrence of such environmental impacts.
Requirements are placed upon This Company’s contractors and suppliers; that they adhere to and operate in accordance with This Company’s environmental procedures and those such contractors and suppliers aspire to achieve an equal standard of environmental protection and compliance.
The involvement of all Company employee’s at all levels is actively encouraged and promoted by The Company Managing Directors via a system of ongoing training, communication and appraisal of working practices.
This Policy is prominently displayed at all of This Company’s sites and communicated to employees, customers, suppliers, contractors, visitors and the public.
